Deputy Minister of Development

Stavros Kalafatis, born in Thessaloniki in 1965, is Deputy Minister of Development for Research and Innovation and MP for A΄ Thessaloniki with New Democracy. A member of the Greek Parliament since 2003, he has been repeatedly reelected. He has served as Deputy Minister of Development, Minister for Macedonia–Thrace, Alternate Minister of Environment, and Deputy Minister of Interior. He studied Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds master’s degrees in International Studies and Sports Management. He is married and has two children.
