Giorgios Papagiannis

Assistant Professor - Director of Biomechanics Laboratory, Physiotherapy Department, University of the Peloponnese

Dr. Papagiannis Georgios completed his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005.

His graduate work at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, United Kingdom centered at the area of Rehabilitation Biomechanics where he was granted the title Master of Science in Applied Biomechanics (2007).

At Karolinska Institutet Dr. Papagiannis concentrated in the postgraduate education of neuroscience (2008).

Dr. Papagiannis has completed his PhD and Postdoctoral studies in Orthopaedics at the faculty of medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece (2017).

Since November 2011 serves as Scientific Consultant the biomechanics and gait analysis laboratory “Sylvia Ioannou”,(1st Department of Orthopaedics-NKUA), where he teaches the lessons «Exercise Physiology – Therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation», «physiotherapy assessment» and «Rehabilitation Protocols»at the Master of Science program “Health and Exercise”.

Dr. Papagiannis was Academic Fellow (2019-2021) at the University of West Attica where he taught musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

He was elected Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy as well as Director of Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the University of the Peloponnese at 2021.

His research and clinical interest focuses at the biomechanics and rehabilitation of hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasties as well as spine disorders.

Dr. Papagiannis is an experienced physiotherapist with a demonstrated work experience of 19 years at the health care industry.
